  • Description:

    Pelota de Guante or Glove Ball is similar to Pelota Nacional. However, instead of being played with racquets, it is played by teams wearing gloves attached to disk-shaped wooden paddles which they use to propel a heavy ball of hard rubber back and forth. This sport is unique to Ecuador and played principally on Sunday afternoon in the cities of Ibarra and Quito.
