Bartosz Prabucki

Bartosz Prabucki – ethnologist, PhD in physical culture, experienced specialist in traditional sports, games and plays, leisure-time animator.

Passionate about sport since his childhood. He was training football and table tennis, in which he achieved good results.

When he was studying ethnology, he discovered a not popular in Poland, but very valuable subject – traditional sports, games and plays. He dedicated his works: Bachelor and MA ones to this issue.

Fascinated by them, he defended his PhD thesis at the University School of Physical Education in Poznań, writing a comprehensive monograph on the subject of European traditional sports. He also conducted there courses for students from such subjects as “Ethnology of sport”, “Olympism”, “Regional games” and “Sport tourism”.

The author of numerous scientific papers on this issue, published in international reviews. He conducted an independent, multiannual research project: "Ethnology of traditional sports in Europe”. Active participant of many scientific conferences in Poland and abroad. He has been taking part in several practical activities, related to traditional sports, such as world and European Sport for All Games, European Week of Sport, international research projects (also as an expert in Erasmus+ Sport programme), meetings of world class specialists in this issue, classes for children and adults etc. 

A member of the Commission for International Relationships of European Traditional Sports and Games Association (ETSGA).

Active participant of a monthly scientific scholarship on Olympic studies in Ancient Olympia.

He regularly cooperates with the world’s best experts in the subject of traditional sports and games.

Certified leisure-time animator. He organizes practical classes of traditional games and plays for children.
