1999, July 3 to 7, TSG International Seminar in Plouguerneau, Brittany (France)
In 1999, at the beginning of the month of July, the Falsab Confederation (Brittany, France) and the IIAC (International Institute for Body Anthropology) organized a five-day international seminar on TSG in Europe.
This seminar took place at the ‘Musée des goémoniers’ in Plouguerneau and on the Island of Ouessant, necessary spaces of tranquility and serenity for this kind of intellectual exercise.
The aim was of course to strengthen the network (informal) of European leadears and researchers involved in the cultural and educational work of transmission related to the games and sports of cultural tradition. However, another point, more conjunctural, had emerged, it was the positive evolution of this problem in the school and educational world which required work of analysis and synthesis in order to set common objectives.
It should be noted that this seminar resulted in reinforcing the idea that these games and sports from cultural tradition should have an official international structure. This was done two years later in Lesneven, a small town near Plouguerneau.
Many organizations were participating in Plouguerneau: The Falsab confederation and the IIAC, the sports and games section of the Institut Culturel de Bretagne, the International Federation of Celtic Wrestling, the 'educational sciences' department of the University of Rennes, the CEMEA, the Idraetsfork of Gerlev in Denmark, the Idraetshistorisk Vaersted of Slagelse in Denmark, the Instituto Nacional de Educación Física de Catalynya in Spain, the Federazione Italiana Giochi e Sport tradizionali, the Federaxon Esport de Nohtra Tera in Italy, the Faculdad de Ciencas de physical Education de Las Palmas in Spain, Euskadiko Herri Kirol Federakundea in Spain, Federación Aragonesa de deportes tradicionales, Federation of the Breton Athletic Sports, Committee of the Bigouden galoche, Muséo de JDT de Campo, KULKI SC Spain, Gascon Palet Committee, Rural Homes of Gers, Ass. Créa-Jeu, People and Culture Ass., various schools teachers and also students in physical education.
